Two new opinion polls show conflicting results for the coalition parties.

A RED C survey for the Sunday Business Post shows Fine Gael and Labour losing five points - effectively wiping out increasing popularity with the public after the bailout exit.

But a Millward Brown survey for the Sunday Independent actually shows the Government parties going up six points.

The RED C poll puts Fine Gael on 27%, down 2 points but remaining the most popular in the country.

Labour's losses of three points to 9% returns party support to single figures.

Independents now have the second largest chunk of support with voters - up three points to 25 percent.

Fianna Fáil gains 1 to 23 and Sinn Féin also goes up one to 16 percent.

A second poll for the Sunday Independent though tells a very different story.

Here Fine Gael and Labour both go up three points each to 30 and 12% respectively.

Fianna Fáil also goes up 2 to 26%, but Sinn Féin goes down a whopping 5 points to 16% and Independents and Others drop 3 to 16%.
