The governor of South Carolina has signed a new law that removes the Confederate flag from the grounds of the state house building.
The banner is seen by some as a symbol of racism and a debate started after the shooting of 9 black people at a church last month.
The white suspect charged with the killings, has been seen in online photos with the flag.
