A cannabis grow house has been discovered by gardaí in Co Leitrim.

It was found during a search of a rented property in the Manorhamilton area last night.

Gardaí seized cannabis cultivation equipment, along with 50 fully mature cannabis plants, 90 plants in the early stages of growth and a kilogramme of processed cannabis herb.

The cannabis seized has an estimated street value of €60,000.

Two Lithuanian nationals - aged 22 and 49 - were arrested during the operation.

The two men are being held at Ballyshannon Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Gardaí say an examination of the site where the grow house was discovered is continuing.
