The feud between the Beckhams is “not beyond resolving”, a family mediation specialist has said.

On Monday, the entertainment world was turned on its head when Brooklyn Beckham posted a number of incendiary messages about his relationship with his parents on Instagram.

For some time, there have been rumours of a rift and Brooklyn accused his parents of trying “endlessly to ruin" his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz

He added that he does not want to reconcile with his family.

The Beckham family has not commented directly on Brooklyn’s remarks but David has since remarked that children are "allowed to make mistakes".

On The Hard Shoulder, family mediation specialist Michelle Brown said that conflict between parents and their children is “so natural”.

“What's happening is kind of something that is normal - except it's not because we're dealing with the Beckhams and the Peltzs,” she explained.

“And what we're hearing is a perspective; so, the statement that has been released is Brooklyn's perspective.

“We can guarantee that Victoria has a completely different perspective.”

Ms Brown added that the truth probably lies somewhere “in the middle”, noting that doubt has already been cast on Brooklyn’s assertion that Victoria pulled out of making Nicola Peltz’s dress at the “eleventh hour”.

So, is there anything that can bring the Beckham’s feuding factions back together? Ms Brown believes a key ingredient remains.

“What you'd love to do here is find a bit of common ground for them, because what we've heard is that there's issues around control,” she said.

“But we haven't heard of a lack of love; what we have seen from these parties is displays of love for years and years and years.

“We have seen the relationship between Harper and her brothers.

“And, you know, it just seems so sad from the perspective of a mother.

“And you'd be heartbroken to think of the feelings of the siblings, let alone mum and dad and Brooklyn Beckham.”

Overall, Ms Brown believes the issues that have been raised are “not beyond resolving”.

“I think it's really important to recognise that parents are not perfect,” she said.

“And if we can stand back and remember that we're all humans and that if we require perfection, we will have relationships with no one.

“It's to find the common ground here and to try and help use the necessary tools to get it back on track.”
