Gardaí have recovered the body of a man from the Grand Canal in Dublin.

The body was discovered near the Charlemont Luas stop on the city’s southside at about 5am this morning.

He is believed to be aged in his 30s or 40s.

Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the area - but at this stage are not treating the death as suspicious.

They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
