Britain's royal baby has had his first public engagment - as he was shown to waiting members of the public and press outside St. Mary's Hospital in London in the past hour.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have now left the hospital and have travelled to Kensington Palace with their new son.

The royal couple said that they had not yet decided on a name for the baby.

Before leaving the hospital they spoke to reporters and reflected on their new lives as parents.
