Its been almost two decades since A Tribe Called Quest released their last album, which coincided with them breaking up as a group act.

1998's The Love Movement seen Q-Tip, Jarobi White, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Phife Dawg record together for the last time before going their separate ways.

Earlier this year, Pfife Dawg died at the age of 45 from diabetes-related complications, but prior to his death he had recorded some new material with his ex-group mates.

Talking to Rap Radar, L.A. Reid - the chairman and CEO of Epic Records - confirmed the following: "I’m really happy about it, man, it’s really something special. It’s one of the things I’m most excited about over everything we’re working on. [...] Phife is there, the whole group. Jarobi [White], the entire group, everybody.”

While there is no confirmed release date for the project, Reid did state that the album is “coming very soon".
