A further 7,733 people have contracted COVID-19, the Department of Health has confirmed. 

2,743 people tested positive from a PCR test, while 4,990 people registered positive antigen tests with the HSE. 

The five day moving average now stands at 7,616. 

Currently 1,360 people in Irish hospitals have the virus - of whom 54 are being treated in ICU.
