A 13-year-old has been arrested in Belfast following disturbances in the east of the city late last nght.
A seven-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a stone when trouble erupted between two rival factions in the Bryson Street area. The injured boy is said to have received bruising to his arm.
Officers attended the scene following reports, and police say the area was described as quiet by 12.45am.
The boy who was arrested on suspicion of riotous behaviour has been released on bail.
The PSNI is appealing to parents to know where their children are, following the incident.
Temporary Superintendent Bobby Singleton said, "we’re concerned not only about the safety of young people in the area but also the potential for them to get caught up in incidents which could have a serious impact on their futures.”
