Every weekthe weird and wacky world of the web is cracked wide open in a somewhat frantic pattern on Moncrieff, with the most useful and useless websites and apps brought to your attention. Here's what the show covered today:

  • An opening video:

It's 11 years since Friends ended its decade-long run on TV screens, but with the show repeated every day on digital channels, it's like it's never really gone away. But the Internet has uncovered four scenes that were hastily cut from the eighth series of the show, from an episode in which Chandler and Monica head off on their honeymoon. Due to be broadcast just a couple of week's after 9/11, watching them will show why the producers decided to cut them, but for fans of the show, they make for curious viewing:

For when you want to send a hostile, yet ultimately helpful, message to anyone who asks you to Google things that they could just Google themselves.

Billed as 'Shazam for bird lovers', this mobile app allows you to record up to 60 seconds of birdsong, then analyses the sound to tell you which species of birds you're listening to.

  • A Knock-umentary needs your help

The makers of One Million Dubliners, the quirky and life affirming feature about Glasnevin Cemetery, are following it up with a new project, about the pilgrimage town of Knock in Co Mayo. Despite receiving funding, the team, led by director Aoife Kelleher, is asking fans to help source a further €70,000 to finish off the project as they'd really like to.

If you're a fan of One Million Dubliners, you can chip in here.

A website for people swept away by wanderlust, this offers incredible value holidays to cities far and wide – just as long as you log on with an open mind and few travel restrictions on your passport. The bargains come and go quick and fast, but there is an incredible package on offer everyday. Like this one, for return flights from Dublin to Mumbai.

For when you're faced with wrapping your tongue around a foreign-language word and don't want to make a fool of yourself. Simply type the word in and you'll find some kind-hearted language nerds around the globe will have recorded themselves saying it in their clearest mother-tongue accents.

Life is hard, people are mean, and staring into the abyss of an Excel spreadsheet all day long can be pretty miserable. Let strangers from all over the world embrace you in a comforting hug.

  • And finally...

A new side to Chatroulette, the website that pairs people around the world with other completely random (and frequently naked) people via webcams.

A British film studio created a live-action first-person shooter zombie game in their back garden, with hilarious results. It's like Knightmare for pervy millennials.
