Every Tuesday on Moncrieff, Darragh Doyle is live in studio with Sean, taking him through what is trendy and trending online this week. Here's what Darragh covered today:
- Mr Cian Twomey
When your girlfriend reads a bad horoscope
Posted by Mr Cian Twomey on Monday, June 15, 2015
Mr Cian Twomey from Cork is the very definition of a Facebook phenomenon. With over 723K likes on Facebook and over 1 million likes on most of his videos, the story of him and his girlfriend Emily, who he also plays, is one of hope, joy and romance. In other words, she’s a psycho.
I was Fascinated to see that his real life girlfriend is also called Emily. We couldn’t play this one on air, but here’s what happened about it…
Guys I just hit HALF A MILLION followers!?! I can't thank you enough for liking and sharing my stuff, it honestly means the world to me and myself and the real Emily will be releasing a video soon! You're all so amazing thank you again

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Cian popping up on TV soon. You can follow him on Twitter here.
- Toilet_Dublin - an Instagram odyssey

There have been no shortage of urine related posts on this segment over the past few weeks, from AirPnP to RunPee. But the best - very best - toilet-related resource online is now the instagram account toilet_dublin, whose creator is going around, taking photos of toilets in public venues and rating them for us.
Not only do we get pictures of the cubicles, the toilets themselves and the surroundings, but also amazing hashtags like in the Church on Mary St, we have Hozier and #TakePeeToChurch tagged. For the Blackbird there’s #LetItPee, and then in others there’s all the drinks they had to cause a trip to the bathroom.

A lot of work is going into this - the images are quite well collaged - some of the toilets get ratings for things like cleanliness, comfort, extras - soap, tampons or toothpaste - and then what’s great is that people are getting involved with comments and suggestions as well.
There’s currently 40 posts and 206 followers - I’d imagine that will grow soon. There are talks about group instagram accounts - some apps already let you do it - so imagine Dublin became the first city to have its toilets rated on Instagram?
- Could you be a 'Super-Recogniser'?
From identifying toilets to identifying criminals - could you look at CCTV footage and recognise/identify someone from it? Partly due to the success of a few police super-recognisers at identifying a large number of criminal offenders from CCTV images there has been a massive increase in interest in individuals possessing these exceptional abilities.
The face recognition and other cognitive abilities of some of the officers have been tested by the University of Greenwich, and they say they are always looking out for other super-recognisers - particularly those not in the police - so that we can find out more about this extraordinary skill.
The test on this website takes about five minutes and is really just a bit of fun. There are 14 trials and you will find out how well you did at the end.
If you do very well then you may be a super-recogniser and the University would be very happy if you would volunteer to take some additional tests after the fun test.
- In Stage 1 of each trial you will see a single face for a few seconds
- In Stage 2 you will see an array of faces.
Your task is to try and pick out the first face from the array
- Housecreep - mapping houses and places where crime has happened
Thankfully, in a way, it’s not hit Ireland yet, here’s a website in the US and Canada that is crowdsourcing the locations of murder homes, meth labs, and other homes in the news.
You could take the moral high ground here and say that it’s terrible, but firstly, it’s one of the mainstays of tabloid magazines and newspapers that sells them and secondly, if you were considering a move to a house or a neighbourhood, wouldn’t you want to know what went on there?
It’s easy to discount and dismiss crowdsourced projects like this - you never know what’s really true, but there could be a good reason that the house prices aren’t that high or that people look at you funny when you move in...
- And finally... What does a baby white rhino sound like?
Perhaps not exactly how you would expect...
