A woman who was earning a significant sum of money on OnlyFans has explained why she felt so relieved to quit the platform.

In her early 20s, Lucy Blanc moved to New York for a job as a content creator.

Initially, it was “fantastic” and she had the “two best years of her life” working in the Big Apple.

However, a new boss changed everything and she felt bullied in a role she had once enjoyed so much.

Ms Blanc quit and moved back to Britain, in debt and feeling a little lost.

Unable to apply for jobs as a journalist because she had no formal qualifications, she enrolled in a journalism course and got a job at a pub in London.

It was a difficult time in her life; after studying in the day, she then worked an eight hour shift in the pub to pay off her debts. Such was the stress, she began to drink as well.

“Financial stress is a stress,” she told Moncrieff

“I mean, we obviously talk about but the implications on your mental health are unlike anything I have ever experienced.

“It was so daunting thinking that the repossessor, the taxman can be there kind of at any moment - because I was in massive debt.”

In the end, Ms Blanc decided to open an account on OnlyFans; it was a “very difficult” decision as she felt this would massively impact her career.

Still, with no end to her financial worries in sight, she felt it was the only option.

To begin with, the images were just “what you would see on the beach” but soon that “red line got erased”.

“It's quite remarkable what you will do when you need to,” she said.

“And I don't regret that.”

The money soon began to pour in, as more and more people subscribed to her account.

It gave her time to sit and think about what she wanted from life.

“I'm out of survival mode,” she recalled.

“Yes, I've paid my rent - but actually, if I can stick with this and really put my foot on the gas, I can get a deposit for a house.

“I'm earning serious cash; I can pay my parents back - this is a really good idea.”

One day, Ms Blanc looked at the mirror and thought, ‘I don't recognise myself, I've loved doing this.’.

“‘I've got myself out of a difficult situation. Good for me. But what's underneath now, Liz? Where are we?’”

It was soon afterwards that Ms Blanc decided to stop, despite the existence of one subscriber who paid her £10,000 just to talk to her.

She had paid off her debts and wanted to return to her true passion.

“Well, I'm back to writing and journalism, which is what I always wanted to do,” she said.

“My money, I've invested it; I'm very, very sensible with my money.

“I try to invest 80% of it. I'm going to let it sit there.

“I may have done what I did… and I never want to be in that position again.

“If I am, I am, but I hope not to be - so, I've invested it for the future.”
