Every day on Moncrieff, Sean and his team of boundary-pushers scouring the world to bring you the weird and whacky, the touching and terrifying, the odd and the obscure. It’s a herculean task, sifting through all the information they can find to get to grips with 15 hours of radio gold – it’s no wonder they like to finish the week off with a glass of something alcoholic with their Movies & Booze segment.
But that is why today, the first day of April, known to the English-speaking world as April Fools’ Day, is a hard day for Moncrieff. It’s the day when the rest of the world’s media tries to up the ante with fantastic tales that are supposed to lure in eager consumers before revealing the ruse. And Moncrieff does that every day – except that it’s the truth.
So here are five stories from Moncrieff that might as well be April Fools’ hoaxes – except that they just happen to be the truth.
