Enda Kenny could be reappointed as Taoiseach next Wednesday

Enda Kenny could be reappointed as Taoiseach next Wednesday, after Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil agreed a deal on forming a government. The deal will now go to the two party leaders, before getting final approval from TDs within each party. Fianna Fáil negotiator Michael McGrath said the three weeks of talks had been 'tortuous' at times.

Victims of the Hillsborough tragedy were this week remembered as the inquest into the death of the 96 Liverpool fans who tragically died were found to be "unlawfully killed". Families of the victims fought with dignity and courage to bring about the landmark ruling and the footballing community has rallied around the club, commemorating the victory for justice.

Ruth Coppinger: Paul Murphy granted legal aid because costs could 'exceed €100,000'

On Thursday, it was revealed that Paul Murphy has been granted legal aid for his upcoming trial. The Anti Austerity Alliance TD faces charges of falsely imprisoning acting Tánaiste Joan Burton during a water charges protest almost 18 months ago. There was no garda objection to legal aid based on the figures in documentation presented by Deputy Murphy's solicitor.

Luas drivers to continue with protest despite threat of 10% wage cut

Luas drivers will push on with their pay claim - despite the threat of a 10% cut to their wages if they continue to strike. On Thursday night, drivers discussed the threat by Transdev to cut their pay from Friday morning and decided to continue with their industrial action. Drivers are taking the action in support of a pay claim of over 20%, and downed tools for the ninth time yesterday.

Longitude 2016 day-by-day line-up announced

Set to take place from July 15th to 17th in Dublin's Marley Park, the Longitude festival has just announced the official day-by-day breakdown of performers. The organisers have also release a full list of new additions to the line-up, with some hugely impressive names now set to take part. The Lumineers, Run The Jewels, The Coronas, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Annie Mac, Diplo, Vic Mensa, Daughter, Stormzy and Laura Mvula and almost forty more have been added to the already announced headliners Kendrick Lemar, Major Lazer and The National.
