There have been 9,371 new cases of COVID-19 in Ireland today, the Department of Health has confirmed. 

2,100 of the cases came from positive PCR tests, while 7,271 were from antigen tests registered with the HSE. 

Over the weekend, 11,266 people tested positive on Sunday, while a further 11,253 did on Saturday. 

1,042 hospital patients have contracted the virus, of whom 42 are being treated in ICU. 

The five day moving average now stands at 10,552.
