Samsung host “Unpacked” events for all of their flagship product announcements.
Earlier this year we had one in Barcelona for the announcement of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. These events often involve different department heads from Samsung’s head office talking through the innovation within the company and the thought that goes into the new product before the new phone / tablet / other product is unveiled to the world.
Today they are hosting two “Samsung Unpacked” events simultaneously - one in London and the other in New York. Both events will kick off at around 3pm sharp.
There’s been an endless stream of rumours as to what the new products could be, but the tech giants are expected to reveal the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy 6 Edge Plus.
The Galaxy Note 5 is rumoured to feature better processors, a 5MP front-facing camera, and 4GB of RAM. These are all significant upgrades from the Galaxy Note 4’s 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera and 3GB of RAM. It’s thought that the Note 5 will have a 5.7-inch screen and a stylus - both staple features of the Note range.
We’re also expecting to see the Galaxy 6 Edge Plus. This will feature the same curved screen we saw on the Galaxy S6 Edge earlier this year. It’s thought that the 6 Edge Plus will have a 5.5-inch screen, continuing Samsung’s phablet trend.
We’ll be at this afternoon’s event and will live tweet the announcement as it happens.
