It's no secret that Hollywood has tricks and tips to enhance the movie stars, but "beauty work" technology has produced more amazing transformations than any amount of botox or slimming pills.

Just like botox and slimming pills, Lola Visual Effects is rarely spoken about but it has been used on some of the biggest productions in recent years. Take the 2010 movie The Social Network as an example. This film tells the story of the legal case surrounding the foundation of Facebook. The characters Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss play a significant role in the film, but did you know they were played by the same person?

Rather than have actor Armie Hammer act out each role individually, the movie makers opted to use Lola Visual Effects to place Hammer's face on the body of a second actor and then revoice the lines. This saved a significant amount of time. Just watch how they made it happen:

This technique can also be used to enhance the appearance of any of the actors; removing acne, facial hair or even tired eyes.

Lola gained attention after the release of Benjamin Button. The technology was used to age Brad Pitt and, as you can see, it's very convincing.

This technology was the focus of a fascinating article in Vulture which was published last week.
