As users continue to get used to the addition "Stories" to Instagram, further details are continuing to emerge around the future working of the app.
It would appear that the crossover between the photo-sharing app and its parent company, Facebook is on the increase. It has been confirmed that Instagram is using an algorithm powered by data from Facebook to decide the order in which Stories appear, within Instagram.
A spokesperson from Instagram explained how their algorithm will decide the order of Stories by referencing whose content users engage with on Instagram, as well as Facebook.
This algorithm will prioritise Stories from the people it thinks users would be most likely to check out.
Snapchat is, for the moment, maintaining its reverse chronological order. This could, however, change in the coming weeks as we all await their attack against the arrival of Instagram Stories.
