Samsung Unpacked 2015: London kicked off at 4pm today while a separate event took place simultaneously in New York City.
After a small presentation about the innovation that takes place at Samsung, the new Galaxy S6 Edge + was unveiled to the world. The device has a 5.7-inch curved screen and a unibody build. The Galaxy S6 Edge + continues Samsung's trend of building large "phablet" devices, the first of which was first introduced in 2011.
Aside from the dual-edge design, they have installed a powerful processor and 4GB of RAM into the new device. Consumers will be able to choose between a 32GB model and a 64GB model.
It's also feature heavy with "the most advanced camera" for high-quality photos and videos plus "Live Broadcast", a feature which streams video straight from the camera across all multimedia devices through YouTube (aka built in Periscope).
While many expected an announcement of the Note 5, that didn't transpire here in London. Samsung executives explained that the Note 5 will be available in markets outside of Europe, but the company opted for the Edge + this time around.
Fans of the Note range should most definitely check out the new offering as it ticks many of the boxes of the Note 4. One of the few things the Note has that the Edge + does not is the S pen (stylus).
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + will be available in Ireland from Friday September 4th.
