In an interesting attempt to incorporate synergy into their delivery process Amazon are looking to make its customers its deliver people as well.
While nothing has been confirmed from the company, the Wall Street Journal reports that a scheme called 'On My Way' will pay customers to deliver other customers' products while they're on their way from one location to another.
The move is a bid to try and cull their rising delivery costs following a surge of $2.07 billion in deliver costs last year alone. Amazon's delivery costs for last year stood at $8.7 billion a total of 9.8 percent of sales.
It isn't unheard of Amazon to innovate in the delivery section either as they test out one hour deliveries by bike in the US and drone delivery of packages.
The details of On My Way is still very much up in the air with no official source from Amazon commenting on the concepts future or even its existence.
It's still unsure as to how Amazon will vet deliverers and how it will pay them. Whether it will be via cash or via credits.
Nonetheless it's quite the incentive for the deliverer if you can pick up a package and deliver on your way to work.
