Over 55,000 passwords have been leaked after a breach of a major online training course website's database.

Lynda.com, which hosts thousands of online courses, confirmed the leak after sending out an email to its 9.5 million users.

The email asked them all to reset their passwords even though only a small percentage of users might actually be affected.

The breach is thought to also possibly included contact information of all the accounts that were accessed.

The LinkedIn-owned company said in the email “We recently became aware that an unauthorized third party breached a database that included some of your Lynda.com learning data, such as contact information and courses viewed. We are informing you of this issue out of an abundance of caution.”

This is another in a long list of major data breaches this year, and follows the largest ever leak revealed last week as Yahoo leaked details of over one billion accounts.
