Pornhub's Vice President has written a letter to the CEO of Twitter offering to take over Vine.

Corey Price announced that his adult video streaming service would gladly take Vine off of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s hands

"We figure since Twitter has dropped (Vine) and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine," he writes in a letter shared with CNET. "Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like 'Damn Daniel,' 'Awkward Puppets' and many more."

Outlining his plans for the micro-video site, Price says that he will "restore Vine to Its NSFW glory", adding that clips "of porn in six seconds is more than enough time for most people to enjoy themselves."

Though the offer was initially seen as tongue-in-cheek, the company confirmed to PCMag that it was legitimate.

Vine's lenient community guidelines didn't prevent users from posting nudity on the site.

On Thursday, Twitter announced it was ending Vine's service.

The social network said it will be shut down in the coming months, but the website will stay online so people can watch previous posts.

"Nothing is happening to the apps, website or your Vines today," Twitter and Vine said in a blog post.

"We value you, your Vines, and are going to do this the right way. You’ll be able to access and download your Vines.

"We’ll be keeping the website online because we think it’s important to still be able to watch all the incredible Vines that have been made.

"You will be notified before we make any changes to the app or website."

The closure comes as Twitter looks set to cut 9% of its workforce - around 350 jobs.
