Ryanair has cancelled 110 flights today due to a strike by air traffic controllers in France.

The cancellations could affect up to 20,000 passengers.

Flights across Europe are impacted by the cancellations, with Ryanair's scheduled flights between Dublin and Carcassonne, Reus, Biarritz, Nice and Murcia among those cancelled today.

Anyone intending to fly is urged to check with their airline's website before heading to the airport, with Ryanair having published a full list of today's cancellations.

Ryanair said it apologises for any inconvenienced "caused by these unjustified ATC disruptions which are entirely outside of our control".

The Local reports that the disruption comes on a day of strikes in France over Emmanuel Macron's proposed reforms to labour law.

Dozens of street protests are planned across the country by opponents of the planned changes.

The French air traffic controllers union claims the revised legislation would mean "fewer rights for employees, more powers for employers".
