A man in his 20s has been arrested following a significant seizure of ammunition, according to Gardaí.
As part of an ongoing investigation targeting serious criminal activity in Dublin, Gardaí stopped and searched a car on the Finglas Rd, Dublin 11 yesterday.
During this search operation, a quantity of ammunition was seized. One male in his 20’s was arrested and is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
It follows another "significant" weapons seizure in Cabra yesterday, in which Gardai seized a number of weapons, including two sub-machine guns and ammunition.
Garda Detective Superintendent Tony Howard called the seizure “significant” and said the type of weapons involved would have been “particularly lethal” in the hands of untrained individuals.
