Senator Fidelma Healy-Eames made another blunder today, revealing that she doesn't know how the term 'wifi' is pronounced.
It isn't the first time she's shown a lack of undestanding when it comes to technology either. She was widely ridiculed two years ago when she raised the matter of 'fraping' in the Seanad, calling it "rape on Facebook."
Healy-Eames was also a prominent No campaigner in the lead-up to the same-sex marriage referendum, and faced criticism for a claim that a Yes vote might mean the end of Mothers' and Fathers' days:
Happy Mothers' day all! Hope we can continue to celebrate it after #SSM passed. In some US states Mothers & Father's Day banned #pcgonemad

When asked to source the claim, she offered a link to Rense.com, a conspiracy theory website noted for its anti-Semetic articles.
