House hunters in Dublin queued for more that 3 days over the weekend in the hope of buying a home in North Dublin.

As many as 10 people had joined the line outside the St Marnock's Bay development in Portmarnock, where new houses were due to go on sale next week.

The scenes have heightened awareness of the difficulties facing young families looking to secure their first home, and there have been calls for the Government to intervene in the market.
