Independent coffee shops in Dublin are taking on Starbucks, after the chain announced it’s opening another branch in the city centre.

Up to 20 cafes are giving away free coffees at peak rush hour times to promote small independent businesses.

The free Dublin coffee day was started by The Clockwork Door on the quays to promote smaller businesses.
