Car insurance costs are coming down but it could be a while before motorists see an improvement in their bills.
New figures show there's been a 14% drop in prices, the most dramatic decrease since costs began rising three years ago.
There are suggestions the reduction could be linked to dawn raids on insurance companies by the EU Competition Directorate, designed to break up cartels.
Stuart Gilhooly, President of The Law Society of Ireland thinks the raids may have frightened insurers, but the CEO of Insurance Ireland Kevin Thompson says it's just a coincidence.
The both spoke with Paul Williams on Newstalk Breakfast.
