Barry Flanagan and Rob Rainsford launched ProKulture Kombucha in 2019. Based in Sallins, County Kildare the pair were keen to share the drink that Rob had discovered whilst living in Vancouver. Kombucha had already proved popular in Canada and the States thanks to it being packed-full of antioxidants and good for promoting a healthy gut.
ProKulture Kombucha is a fermented tea. A live culture is added which creates bacteria, amino acids and according to the guys ‘all the good stuff’. The product was entered into this year’s Grow with Aldi campaign. Barry and Rob were delighted to be one of the 45 suppliers chosen by Aldi to be showcased nationwide for a trial-period in May. The feedback was very positive and more great news was on-hand when the Kombucha was named one of the Grow with Aldi winners.
The drink is gluten free, alcohol free and vegan friendly and will be available in Aldi store nationwide from Monday August 31st. Keep your eyes peeled to see some more exciting Irish products hitting the shelves in the coming weeks.
