Joanna Palani made headlines worldwide when her role fighting ISIS in the Syrian Conflict was revealed.
At the age of 18, she left college in Copenhagen to travel to the Middle East to join the all-female brigade of the Kurdish Militia.
"I knew that I was going to keep going forward until a bullet stopped me," Palani told Pat Kenny.

Palani explained how she attended training camps in Kurdistan before heading to Syria to ensure they would take her on board.
