Six people have been arrested in connection with suspected human trafficking in Co Meath.
It is understood gardaí received a report of a number of people being falsely imprisoned at a house in the county last night.
Gardaí detained three men in their 40s to 60s, two women aged between 40 and 60, and a teenage girl in a planned search of a house at Castletown-Kilpatrick in Navan yesterday.
They are all being held at various Garda stations in the Meath division.
Stephen Breen, Crime Editor with the Irish Sun, spoke to Pat Kenny about the story.
"It's very early days in the investigation, but [there were] a lot of people under one roof," he explained.
"There are serious concerns there, so the investigation is ongoing trying to establish what is going on."
He added that "there certainly is at the moment allegations that Irish people were involved in the attempts to bring these people into the country".
