Many of us rush the 'set up' process when we purchase a new smartphone. We just want it up and running as soon as humanly possible. In doing so, however, iPhone owners may be missing a trick.

If you own an iPhone and happen to misplace it, or even find an iPhone but don't know who owns it, there's a very easy solution. Press the 'Home' button to wake Siri and ask "Who does this iPhone belong to?"

If the owner has filled in the 'My info' section, Siri should produce the following results:

If this section has been completed, it should be quite easy to reunite the phone with the owner. It only takes a few minutes to do, and can save quite a bit of heartache for those who misplace their phones.

How to set it up:

If you want to insert your contact information now, it's very easy to do and won't take more than 2 minutes.

Settings > General > Siri

Ensure that Siri is switched on and under "my Info" select your contact information from your contacts. If you can't find it within your contact book, insert it and hit save. It's worth adding an email address in, as obviously, if your phone is missing, the person who finds it won't be able to call you!

Once you've done that, lock your phone and give it a go!
