The first of the semi finals is over as Novak Djokovic defeats Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(2), 7-6(7) and will move on to play No. 4 seed Roger Federer in the final.

Early on in the first set Djokovic took control and won it 6-4. Fighting from 3-1 down to take the second set at 6-3, Dimitrov looked right at home during this semi final match on Centre Court and it showed as Djokovic mentally shut down after the first set.

Djokovic took the third set as Dimitrov was unable to return his serve. The tie-break finished at 7-2. Dimitrov lost the first game in the fourth set but took the lead at 4-3 as a fifth set looms over Centre Court. Late in the fourth set it was 6 - 6 and Djokovic faced yet another tie break.

In the fourth set tie break Dimitrov had three set points at 6-3 to bring this match into a fifth set but lost to Djokovic 7-9. Dimitrov fought valiantly for a spot in the final but made rookie mistakes in the last two sets. This match may have been won by the veteran but Djokovic will need to work on fundamentals before playing in the final.

Roger Federer defeated Canada’s Milos Raonic in the second semi final of the day in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. Each point for Raonic was heavily dependent on his serve. To reach the final of Wimbledon Raonic needed more than one weapon in his arsenal.

With three match points, Federer won the third set and will move on to his ninth Wimbledon final. Sunday will be the 25th Grand Slam final for Federer and he will have to defeat No.1 seed Novak Djokovic for the win.
