England rugby union World Cup winner Jonny Wilkinson spoke to fellow fly-halves Matt Giteau and Frederic Michalak before deciding to continue for another season.
He currently plays for wealthy French club Toulon.
Wilkinson told The Times that a groin operation tipped the balance towards hanging up his boots, but the success of his surgery changed his mind.

He also would not rule himself out of contention for the British and Irish Lions, but says his involvement is unlikely.
