As you may have heard, NFL star Jason Pierre-Paul had his right index finger amputated after a mishap involving fireworks.

As Off The Ball's resident American and US Sports expert Donny Mahoney put it to Ger, it's like "if you were to lose a portion of your tongue as a radio broadcaster".

But Donny also pointed out that a ranking of the most important fingers for defensive linemen in American football exists, which gives a small crumb of comfort to Pierre-Paul:
