Juventus have put themselves in sight of a third successive Serie A title after hammering second-placed Roma 3 - 0.
But how is this version of La Vecchia Signora regarded by Italians given the legendary Juve sides of the past?
To find out we spoke to calcio expert James Horncastle who believes this excellent Bianconeri side are not on the same level as the team of the 1990s.
"Many people would say that it doesn't quite compare because Serie A was that bit more competitive back then. This Juventus side is certainly highly regarded in terms of the records it's breaking. In a calendar year, it has achieved more points than any other Juventus team in history and it would be the first to go three in a row since the 1930s. And there is a belief that the standard of the league is better than when Inter had their cycle."
But there is one "big regret". Champions League progression is often a barometer of success and as Horncastle pointed out that this Juve team "cocked up the group" by getting knocked out by Galatasaray prior to the last 16 in this campaign.
But Horncastle believes this Juve side are among the elite and also possess one of the best midfields in Europe, staffed by Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba.
The latter has been a revelation for the club since leaving Manchester United on a free transfer in 2012.
"I think he is a huge loss [for Man United]. Pogba is the crux of Juventus' January transfer business because he is under contract until 2016 but he's on a relatively modest deal. He's one of the lowest paid players at Juventus but breaking into the team relatively quickly. He's emerged as one of their main difference makers. His agent is Mino Raiola (who also represents Ibrahimovic and Balotelli) and he has agitated [for a move]...but Juventus are desperately tried to tie him down and make him one of the highest paid players. That's the measure of the respect he's held in."
