Lee Westwood is holding on to the top spot at Muirfield, as Tiger Woods fall away.

Westwood is +1 for the round, having completed 7 holes. The Englishman is -2 overall, with Henrik Stenson one back on -1 and Adam Scott one further back, on level par. Stenson has shot a very impressive -2 through 10 holes to move him into contention.

Tiger Woods has dropped back to +2 overall, with 3 bogeys on his opening 8 holes. Hunter Mahan – who began the day tied for second with Woods – has also hit 3 bogeys already, pushing him back into the chasing pack.

Ian Poulter has been the tale of the day thus far, however, as he went eagle, birdie, birdie, birdie between the 9th and 12th. Poulter is now on +1 overall.
