Arsène Wenger enjoyed a good 65th birthday yesterday, although heading towards the end of the game it looked like it might have been an occasion the Gunners' boss would rather forget.

Anderlecht's Najar gave the Belgian side the lead after 71 minutes, before late goals from Gibbs and Podolski earned Arsenal all three point. Podolski's strike was the German forward's first of the season, and rather timely given rumours that he wants to leave for north London rivals Spurs.

The win means Arsenal are three points behind Borussia Dortmund in their group, with three games remaining. The next match is at home to Anderlecht on November 4th, before meeting Dortmund at the Emirates on November 26th.
