Dublin centre-back Joey Boland was understandably delighted to return to Division 1A after a tense 1-16 to 1-15 win over Limerick in the promotion decider on Saturday night.
The Na Fianna club man was the man who popped over the winning point just two minutes from time and he was also happy to get one over a Limerick side that had beaten them by six points at Croke Park on March 16th:
"We owed them one for the result in Croke Park where we thought we played much better than the result reflected."
Speaking to Newstalk Breakfast's Oisin Langan after the final whistle, Boland was under no illusion what the result means for hurling in the capital.
"What's at stake was huge for Dublin hurling. We need to be playing in Division 1 and we had been playing Division 1 for the last five years and that's what has brought us on so much. Hopefully the result should give us more freedom so we can give a real Dublin performance against Tipp."
