England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has paid tribute to the victims of the Donegal tragedy. 

Five people - a man, woman, a girl and two boys, who were all members of an extended family, drowned after their vehicle slid off a pier at Buncrana harbour.

Taking to Twitter, Manchester United striker Rooney tweeted: "Devastating news about young Mark, Evan & family from Derry. Your support has not gone unnoticed".

The family were related to Derry City footballer Joshua Daniels whose club have pledged their full support to him:
