Wes Hoolahan had a key role as Ireland won their third 2018 World Cup qualifier against Moldova last Sunday.

But while he was provider in Chisinau for the opening goal for Shane Long, the playmaker turned goalscorer for Norwich upon his return to club action.

The 34-year-old was up against Rotherham United in Saturday's Championship action when Alex Pritchard played a ball to him in the box.

There was still plenty of work to do but Hoolahan did it well, spinning and turning two defenders and the goalkeeper inside-out in the box before side-footing in.

He also had a role in Norwich's two other goals in the 3-1 win that puts the Canaries top of the Championship table. But it's the goal that stands out:

It was Hoolahan's second goal of the league season, having scored on the opening day's 4-1 away thrashing of Blackburn Rovers.

Meanwhile, Robbie Brady, who had suffered concussion in Ireland's 1-0 win over Georgia last Thursday was not involved.

Before the match, manager Alex Neil had stated that they would not rush back the Ireland midfielder into action.

"There are rules in terms of concussion but it would be nine days tomorrow since he had done the injury. That is not our concern. It is making sure Robbie is functioning okay," he had said.

Neil also added: "It was a serious injury and so first and foremost I want to know he is okay. He got in touch with me as soon as he got to the hospital. He said he was okay, that he had a wee sore head. He got released that evening but it was late into the early hours because they had to run through a variety of tests. He is okay."
