Giovanni Trapattoni, in last night's post-match press conference at the Aviva stadium, chose to focus on the details of the final few moments of last night’s game, but insisted Ireland's hopes of World Cup qualification were not over.
The veteran manager was willing to admit the draw was a fair result and looked at the positives that can be taken from the last week.
“The draw I think is right, because Austria played well. In the second half…they pushed us in midfield.
He then went on to emphasise the positives, stressing that he has a young side who will mature and grow into their roles.
“I think we have the same possibility. Our team now can grow more in confidence, in personality.”
