A crash towards the end of today's stage six means it looks likely that the overall race leader will have to withdraw from the Tour de France.

German Tony Martin went down hard on his shoulder, and was pushed across the finishing line by some of his team-mates.

The incident should allow Team Sky's Chris Froome to take control of the yellow jersey.

The stage was won by Czech rider Zdenek Stybar.
