He only retired last year, but it looks like Steven Gerrard could still do a job at a respectable level.

The former Liverpool captain was playing in a charity match at Anfield on Saturday afternoon. During one international break each season, the venue hosts a match for local charities in the area.

On Saturday, Gerrard was part of a Liverpool Legends team that defeated their Real Madrid counterparts in an entertaining encounter.

Playing for Liverpool in Anfield for the first time, since he left to join LA Galaxy, the former England captain starred in the 4-3 win, and even scored the best goal of the game, for the home side.

After setting up goals for Michael Owen and former Ireland striker John Aldridge, Gerrard scored the team's fourth goal, after getting on the end of a Jason McAteer cross.

Despite taking a 4-0 lead into the last ten minutes, Liverpool conceded three late goals and held on for the win.

Afterwards, Gerrard dedicated the win to Ronnie Moran. The former Liverpool assistant manager, was a part of the club's illustrious boot room. He died earlier this week.
