Like many institutions, football clubs expect their new arrivals to undergo an initiation ceremony.
Fortunately in the football world, they mostly restrict themselves to the mild embarrassment of singing in front of their new team-mates and the like.
On January's Transfer Deadline Day, Scotland international left Sunderland on loan to head to French giants Marseille for the rest of the season.

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby might have joined Marseille way back in the summer but due to his perennial injury problems, he's only just returned to fitness.
