It was a perfect way to begin the final page of Robbie Keane's Ireland story.
On his final night in green at the Aviva Stadium, the captain and record goalscorer went in search of something he'd done 67 times before for the country.
And after a few chances fell his way against Oman in Wednesday night's friendly, Keane found the net with a classy finish to make it 2-0 and also secure his 68th Ireland goal with the second half still to come.
