Ronaldinho was in action over the weekend for Barcelona Sporting Club of Ecuador against San Martin and there was a very strange moment during the match between him and the referee.
Over 60,00 fans packed out the Monumental stadium to see the game, and one of the main attractions was the former world footballer of the year.
During the game, the referee spotted a one-off opportunity that he couldn't pass up, so he asked Ronaldinho to give him his autograph as the game was still going on, much to the amusement of both the Brazilian star and his team-mates for the night.
He still got a standing ovation from the fans when he left the field with about 15 minutes left to go in the match, and stated afterwards that he wasn't going to retire just yet.
"I still won’t retire. I’m going to play a little bit more. It’s good to receive this affection from the fans, so I’m very happy", adding that "there are many things to come in 2016. After Carnaval we will see what I do".
