All three men have spoken about what it takes to lead a team in Dundalk, a town that is one of the most passionate in the country

"If they don't see the captain working hard, or doing his best or leading be example, there's not much chance the rest of the players are going to follow you", O'Donnell admitted.

"Train harder than everybody else. Player harder than everybody else. Do everything better than everybody else.", Keely added. The Dubliner was at Dundalk in two spells as a player and manager. "You have to have people that are prepared to go the whole distance or more. You don't have to say it, you just have to do it. You just walk the walk. People will do it after you."

"I done something for my county. I done something for my town. I done something for myself. I don't think you can get any better than that", Murphy concluded.
