In the moments after Aidan O'Shea hit the ground against Fermanagh, he could hardly have imagined the furor that would follow that incident.

It will undoubtedly be a talking point for days to come, and while it incensed fans on social media in the aftermath, the Sunday Game panel were equally scathing in their assessment of it the next day.

One normally expects Joe Brolly to announce the death of the game in the wake of such an incident, and call for the player to be shot to the moon or some such, but it was the turn of Pat Spillane to be the one calling for action to be taken in the wake of the dive.

Spillane stated that he was sure "Aidan O'Shea woke up this morning and regretted his action yesterday, because he cheated."

"It wasn't a penalty, it was a clear dive," added Spillane. "We spoke about simulation over the last couple of weeks, it's creeping into the game of Gaelic football.

"Nowadays [...] no stone is left unturned in the preparation of teams, and I just feel that human error can cost a team a remaining place in the All-Ireland Championship, and I think his error yesterday cost Fermanagh."
