Following their defeat at the hands of Kildare, Mayo football seems to have taken one hit too many.
Is this the end of the great Mayo football team or will they bounce back next year and finally break 'the curse'? Here is what the lads had to say about the matter on OTB AM.
“It was hard to see a way Kildare were gonna play like they did. The last time they played that well was when they won the Leinster title at the start of this millenium. It was like, the best they ever played in two decades”, explained Ger..
“I feel really bad for the Mayo footballers. I don’t think they’re completely finished. You don’t always get what you want in life. They deserve more than they got,” he continued.
The two point loss shocked the sporting community with a Mayo win expected against a struggling Kildare side.
Eoin however, was not as sympathetic as Ger towards the Mayo footballers saying: “It’s been an amazing story but they would not have made an All Ireland final.”
